The Bodet & Horst Group has sold its site in High Point, NC to Culp, Inc. Culp is one of the leading manufacturers of mattress and upholstery fabrics for furniture world-wide and in the past 6 years has been the trading partner of Bodet & Horst for North America. Culp Home Fashions (the mattress fabrics division of Culp, Inc) plans to continue the production at this site without interruption or cutbacks.

According to Frank Saxon, president and chief executive officer of Culp, Inc., this development enhances the service platform of Culp Home Fashions, which is recently 54% of the turn-over of Culp, Inc. The acquisition also allows Culp Home Fashions to position itself in all major categories of the mattress fabrics industry with a unique, vertically integrated platform.

As Iv Culp, president of Culp Home Fashions and Gerd-Hermann Horst, owner of the Bodet & Horst Group, both point out, the close cooperation of both partners will be continued, in order to use their combined strengths for further growth. Culp, Inc. will continue to serve as an exclusive agent of Bodet & Horst in the field of sewn mattress covers and fire-protection tricot covers for the North American market.

The Bodet & Horst Group continues a controlled growth on future markets with the upcoming start of production at the new sites in Mt. Airy and El Salvador.

“Due to the rapidly increasing request for ready-tailored mattress covers on the American market and in order to offer an excellent price-performance ratio to the American customers, we have decided for an investment in El Salvador and a new knitting mill and sewing plant in Mt. Airy, North Carolina, USA, that will fully focus on production of these covers.“, explains Gerd-Hermann Horst, managing partner of the, by his own account, global leader in the manufacturing of knitted mattress ticking.

It is hoped that the new sites, in addition to the existing production sites in Elterlein, Germany and Vrbovè, Slovakia will help to continuously fulfill the delivery requests of customers worldwide in a fast and accurate manner.
