Richard Bona : The Ten Shades Of Blues : Universal Music

Richard Bona was not born in the little village of Bethlehem in Palestine, but in 1967 in the little village of Minta in Cameroon. His destiny as a musician was revealed to him thanks to the hypnotizing music of the Balafon. His musical interest urging him not only to listen to the music, but also to observe in order to play the instrument, and go all the way to fabricate them.

Richard Bona is back with a new record entitled THE TEN SHADES OF BLUES, published by the Universal Music Group. In this record, the eclecticism of the artist Richard Bona is to be heard. The intro “Take One” pays tribute to the group Take 6.

The Arab world should be dancing to the Indo-Rai rhythm of “Shiva Mentra”.

The title “Good Times”, with its Reggae Jazz flavour should be appealing to the Donald Fagen followers, as I was steeped in the “points of Bass” of “Kurumalete”, and immersed in the nostalgic fragility of “M’Bemba Mama”. Let’s not forget either, the surprising “African Cowboy” driven by its African/Folk/Cajun mix. The “climax” of this album is to be found in the song “Esukudu”.

To sum it up, dear friends from the Arab world and from all over the world, the album THE TEN SHADES OF BLUES from Richard Bona is a pretaste of what the artist is able to do.
